Tequila 100 % de Agave, Blanco · 40 % vol · 0.7 l
Fuentes Guerra comes from Los Altos de Jalisco, the highlands of western Mexico, at around 1,900 metres. The soil there is red and rich in iron, the nights are cool, and the agave grows slowly and gets sweeter. It stays in the field for eight years, then it is cooked, distilled twice and bottled unaged. In the glass: pure agave, with citrus and fresh herbs.

Worth knowing
- 01Agave isn't a cactus, it's related to asparagus. The blue tequila agave got its botanical name in 1902 from a German botanist, Franz Weber. Hence “blue Weber agave”.
- 02Highland agave tastes fruitier and sweeter than agave from the valley. As with wine, altitude, soil and cool nights make the difference.
- 03Planting follows the lunar calendar, as it does for some winemakers.

Origin and production
Distilled by Fuentes Guerra, Hacienda Capellanía · Los Altos de Jalisco
The agave is cooked for more than ten hours with steam and pressure in a stainless steel autoclave. This brings out fresh agave rather than smoke. A mill presses out the juice in four stages, with water from the distillery's own deep well. Fermentation runs for six days in open stainless steel tanks, with regional yeasts propagated by the master distiller. Distillation takes place twice in stainless steel stills with a copper coil, to 55 % vol. The Reposado then matures in American oak, the Añejo in French oak. Up to 100 bottles a minute are filled, and they are labelled by hand.
“La calidad sobre la cantidad, siempre.”

FAQs
How are tequila, mezcal and raicilla best enjoyed?
Neat, at room temperature, from a small glass with an opening, such as a copita or a nosing glass. In small sips, without salt and lime. This is where the agave and the craft come through most clearly.
How long does an opened bottle keep?
Tightly closed, stored upright and in the dark, around a year without any noticeable change in flavour. Unopened, practically indefinitely.
Is ID required on delivery?
Yes. We only sell spirits to adults. The courier hands over the parcel only on presentation of ID.
What does additive-free mean?
No glycerine, no flavourings, no other additives. The houses we work with confirm this in writing. The glass holds only what comes from agave, water, yeast and time.
What happens if a bottle arrives broken?
Please get in touch within 48 hours of delivery at info@mecanova.de with a few photos: the outside of the box, the shipping label with tracking number, the padding and the damaged bottle in the box. Nothing needs to be returned, but please keep the box and the broken glass until we get back to you. We send a replacement or refund the amount.
Can an opened bottle be returned?
You can withdraw from the purchase of unopened bottles within 14 days. Our bottles are sealed: if the seal has been opened after delivery, withdrawal is excluded, because for hygiene reasons we cannot resell an opened spirit. Where there is no seal, you owe compensation for the loss in value of an opened bottle. Details are in the withdrawal policy.
